Junior School Report

The Junior Sub School is a constant buzz again with a lot of events happening. Term 4 is a busy time of the year and students have been working hard to get their best results and to complete assessments for reports. Staff will be completing progress reports soon for students. Coordinators will be in touch with parents if students need support.

ATTENDANCE COMPETITION

Last term The Junior School ran an attendance competition in order to minimalize the number of lateness to school. We are very pleased at the reduced number of lateness and congratulations goes to 7C and 8G for being the overall winners and receiving a pizza lunch.

YEAR 8 CAMPS

Year 8 Camps are still in progress and students are having a wonderful time with their classes at Strathbogie where they are canoeing, having BBQ’s, making pizza dinners, visiting Polly McQuinn Waterfalls, swimming, visiting a farm, going for night walks and seeing the wildlife at night and thoroughly enjoying themselves.

WHOLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY

Caelan Nguyen 7H and Jessica Thompson 7D both made a farewell speech to the Year 12 students at the Whole School Assembly during Week 3 this term, wishing them every success for their exams and futures. The students practised their speech well. Thank you to you both for your representation of the Junior School. We are proud of your efforts.

SPORTING EVENTS

We have a number of students representing the school in Softball, Baseball and Tennis at the moment. It is fabulous to see so many talented students participating in these team activities. The students have represented the school and themselves with pride and have had successful results in the competitions.  Well done!!

THE BIG DAY IN

Our incoming 2020 Year 7 students attended the school on the 28 October to take part in some health and wellbeing sessions. Eager young faces were very enthusiastic about coming to the Secondary College to get a quick glimpse of what is in store for them next year. Thank you to all staff and students who made the new students feel welcome and helped make the day run smoothly.

2020 PLANNING

Planning is taking place for the new school year in 2020. If your child will be moving schools next year could you please inform your child’s coordinator, in writing, as soon as possible. If you are planning a holiday and your child will not return to school on the first school day of 2020 we also need these details.

HOT WEATHER

With warmer weather approaching, students are reminded that only water bottles are permitted in classrooms. Students will not be allowed to leave class to get drinks from the taps.

If you have concerns about your child’s progress, please contact the relevant Coordinator and if your child is going on vacation prior to the end of the year the coordinator must be informed. Please call the coordinators if you have any questions on 9366 2555.
