National Science Week

In week 7, Staughton College celebrated National Science Week.

Mr. Yilmaz started the week off with a bang; with students invited up to help him with a range of cool science experiments.

Ms. Wilson and Ms. McLachlan dissected various organs with students in the yard.

Mr. Rothwell hosted a challenging QR code scavenger hunt around the school yard.

Past Staughton students Sarah Odell and Crystal Bridgeman dropped past to speak to the current senior cohort about their experiences of studying science at university so far.

The staff versus student’s science debate saw fierce competition on both sides. The student speakers presented great arguments, but a well thought through staff rebuttal gained them the win overall.

We had to say goodbye to our baby chicks on Friday, with each of them finding a home with families in our Staughton community.

We were really impressed with the participation levels by both students and staff, and hope to continue the growth of this event next year.
