Junior School House Cross Country
Ben Bishop, Head of Sport
The annual Junior School House Cross Country was held at EE Gunn on Friday 15 March. It was amazing to see all the Preps to Year 6 students running well around the testing course.
Cross Country is about challenging yourself, whether it be trying to win a medal, attempting to qualify for the Balaclava District competition or running without stopping. These goals are about testing ourselves and doing the best that we can.
I was very proud to see all of our students extremely keen and taking on these challenges.

Balaclava Summer Round Robin
The Years 5 and 6 students have been hard at work this term training for a specific sport, be it hockey, volley stars, cricket or basketball.
Many of them committed to afterschool training sessions, and it has been pleasing to see how much their skills and teamwork improved throughout the term.
On 20 March, the students participated in a Round Robin against the other schools in the Balaclava District. We had many excellent results, notably the Girls Cricket and Hockey teams both finishing runners up on the day.
'I really enjoyed playing a new sport, and we were really proud of ourselves for coming runner up in hockey.' - Armin, Year 6
'I enjoyed meeting new people from other schools, and it was an amazing day even though we didn’t win.' - Caleb, Year 6
Thank you to the coaches Mr Bishop, Ms Hand, Mr Hewitt, Mrs Bivard, Mr Cirillo and Miss Burns for your time and commitment to your teams, and thank you to the parents who came to support their children on the day.
