Administration Matters

What an outstanding start to 2019 we have experienced. I am so thankful for the exceptional Teaching, Administration and Support staff team we have here at Tyndale Strathalbyn who work together to ensure the very best is done for each student and their families, with the exception of me who left the incorrect answering machine message on the machine for a week or more!  A special welcome to our new families to the School and I trust your first two weeks have had you feeling very much at home with us.

Many would have met, or at least spoken to over the phone, our new Student Services Officer, Mrs Yvette Hawke. Yvette will work on our front desk from Wednesday to Friday, sharing the role with Anne who serves in this role on Monday and Tuesday. Yvette's past experience of working in schools and sporting clubs has given her the ability to hit the ground running.

I am sure, by now, you have heard that over the holidays we had some wonderful work done to completely upgrade the Primary boys and girls toilet facilities. The squeals of delight by the children, ok, mostly the girls, was heard from afar on day one, which was all we needed to know they were thrilled with the result. The student Well-being office was moved to a larger space and given a new lease on life, with many new additional toys and resources, particularly helpful for the younger students as they play through therapy.

Notes have been sent home regarding our ELC to Year 6 Family BBQ on 27 February 2019 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Please send your RSVP form back, indicating your ability to bring either a sweet or salad to share. The School will provide the BBQ meat. This event is always great fun and a lovely time to get to know one another a little more. If you can't make it from the start, please feel free to join us for dinner at 5:30pm.

A reminder to all parents to please call through to the office if your child is going to be absent. An early morning call, leaving a message with name, year level and reason for absence, really helps to ensure all children are safe and accounted for.

School Tour flyers for our upcoming tours on Thursday 7 March are coming home today with your children for you to share with friends, family and neighbours.  I am constantly encouraged by the number of families that enrol their children with us because of the positive stories they've heard from you.  A School Tour in the relevant sub school is a wonderful way to see firsthand how our School operates and to meet the staff and leadership. As a current family, if there are sub-schools that you are feeling unfamiliar with, you too are most welcome to attend.
