State Athletes

What a day we had on the track in Melbourne on Thursday, 24 October!  With beautiful (at times hot) weather to host us, we had eight athletes take to the track for the 9/10 boys relay (Tom S, Matt Ock, Xavier and Will B), 12/13 girls relay (Zahra, Tilly, Bella and Armani), 100m (Armani), hurdles (Matt Ock) and 200m (Armani).  The students again, represented the school wonderfully and were very professional in their participation.  It was a great experience, particularly for the first timers, going to the State Athletics to see some well trained individuals and teams compete and a lot was learned.  Congratulations to all of our runners!

A special mention to Armani who won the 100m and 200m events and is now the STATE CHAMP for 2019!

A big effort was made by all families to get the athletes to and from the track and we would like to thank them for all their support.

Thank you to all the classes who logged on to the live link and cheered our teams along.  We thought we might have heard some cheering from you all the way to Melbourne!

Another big thank you to Ruth who supported and trained our students all the way to the competition and was behind our team 100%.  A wonderful lady to have on board at Buninyong Primary School.

Junior Cricket Clinics

Last week our cricket clinics for Grade Prep – 2’s started with Jack (from the Buninyong Cricket Club) coming in to involve our students in the sport of cricket and give them a local pathway to our Buninyong Club.  A big thank you to Jack for generously giving his time to our students and if your child is interested in getting involved in cricket outside of school, please see the flyer in the community section of this newsletter.
