TERM 4 INTERSCHOOL SPORT

When excursions and sport were permitted to return following the easing of restrictions, Darebin Division interschool sport plans were quickly finalised to maximise the sport opportunities for students for the remainder of the school year. After a four month hiatus, interschool sport returned on November 16, with year 9 futsal being the first sport back.

The sports on offer to year 7-9 students late in term 4 included: futsal, basketball, soccer, netball and badminton.

A special mention goes to the basketball teams. The year 7-9 girls and boys ‘A’ teams won each of their respective games in their round robin tournaments, a wonderful achievement.

Thank you to all the students who signed up to the sports in big numbers, participated enthusiastically in the training sessions, and then performed so well at the different event days. It provided a very strong reminder of the sense of connection and enjoyment that being part of a team and sports program provides.
