Pre-Kinder

In the first few weeks of Pre-Kinder it has been important for us to establish the students' routine and build relationships with the children and families.

Our interactions with the children are very important during this time to build trust and confidence. The children also begin to make friendships with each other.

As the children begin to feel more comfortable in the Pre-Kinder environment, they become more involved in the many activities on offer, illustrated in the photos below.

Year 4

This week Year 4 enjoyed a visit to the Orange Resource Recovery Centre and the Euchareena Road Resource Recovery Centre. We were able to see up close how our rubbish is processed into one tonne cubes and plastic wrapped before being transported to landfill. We also saw the hard rubbish and recycling sorting areas. We were astounded by the size of the landfill pit. We have been learning about sustainability in Geography this term and the excursion really helped us to see the importance of doing our part for the environment.

Library Lover's Day

Monday 14 February not only marked Valentine’s Day around the world but libraries also celebrated Library Lover’s Day. Staff and students expressed why they loved the Kinross Wolaroi Library and Year 5 created hand made chocolates to celebrate the day.
