From the Chaplain

Rev. Dr Rosalie Clarke

Greeting to KWS families and a belated welcome to 2022

At the end of 2021 a friend said to me, “2022 is going to be a good year – I can feel it in my bones!” I loved that. I realised how much I needed that news, and I realised how much myself – like many others – have been holding on and enduring the disruptive effects of the COVID pandemic.

It is difficult to hold on to life and to capture time, but we do try to grasp it to make it comfortable and to feel in control. Yet we all know that this is not possible and there are no guarantees our efforts will have the outcome they deserve.

In the book of Matthew, Jesus is recorded as saying, “So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” It is a reminder to live in the present, to keep things in perspective, and to manage the challenges that arise in each day.

I absolutely hope that 2022 will be a good year, but the encouragement is to take each day as it comes and to respond with God to the challenges therein.

Blessings to everyone as we learn to live with the virus, as well as face the global and personal challenges that abound. May we learn to respond in grace, love and fairness.

Keeping our Kinross Wolaroi community in my prayers,

Rosalie
