English

Across the last term, students in English have been enlightened by a number of external performances. The acclaimed Bell Shakespeare performed for Stage 5 students on 28 of June. Their dramatic representation of Romeo and Juliet and part of Macbeth supported the class work of students studying these plays, particularly helping them to understand the performance elements of each play.

On July 26, Poetry in Action performed for students studying rhetoric and those who will be studying the poetry of war. Both performances illuminated the poetic and rhetorical devices of each, while also making clear links to the contexts of the texts’ composers.

Senior students have been busily responding to and preparing for examinations. We wish Year 11 students all the best for the upcoming End of Course Examinations and Year 12 all the best in the final push toward their HSC Examinations. Students are reminded to seek feedback from their teachers about all of the practice writing they complete.
