From the Principal

Steven Barclay

Hi Everyone,

Welcome back to our returning students and a warm welcome to our new year 7 & 8 students and families.

What a strange start to the year! Whilst there have been some teething problems I am continually impressed with the adaptability and resilience of our students and teachers as they juggle online learning with face to face learning. The students have engaged well and I am looking forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday.

There have been a few staff changes from last year and I am thrilled to continue in my role as Principal having won the role for the next three years.

Communication 2022 - Facebook

With Covid we are seeing an increasing number of notices and emails coming through from the Education Department, SA Health, Education Minister etc. to be shared with the community. As things can change pretty quickly we will share this information with you via Facebook and Email. Please check regularly as things can change pretty quickly. If you don't have access to Facebook or Email can you please contact the front office and we can arrange to send texts or phone calls for those who require it.

Staff Leaving/ On Leave:

Kerry Thomas - Is working in and around Peterborough doing relief teaching. Kerry did us a huge favour last year by taking on a contract at very short notice and worked well with staff and students.

Sonja Mercer - Sonja secured a Leadership position at Willunga High School. PHS's loss is certainly Willunga's gain as Sonja brings her wealth of leadership experience to her new role. Sonja will sorely missed by staff and students here at PHS as she was an invaluable member of our leadership team. We wish Sonja all the best in her new adventure.

Cenis Macdonald - Mrs Mac has secured a permanent position at Port Augusta Secondary School teaching a whole range of classes including Art and Music.

Vincent Vella - Mr Vella returns from leave and will be joining Mrs Mac at Port Augusta teaching Science.

Esther McCann - Miss McCann is taking a well deserved break to travel and see the world! She will be returning to us in 2023.

Leonie Thomson - Leonie's contract as an in class support finished at the end of term. Leonie did a fantastic job in supporting our students and ensuring their success. As a Peterborough local I am sure that Leonie will continue to be involved with PHS and look forward to working with her in 2022.

Danielle Malone - Miss Malone started to feel like a bit of a Permanent fixture here at PHS. As a relief teacher Miss Malone was always available to help out at short notice and really helped us out as we struggled with staff absences.

Paul Arthur - Paul continues in his role as a Permanent Relief Teacher for the Mid North. Paul worked really well with the staff and students having to step in a few times due to unexpected staff absences and whilst others were on leave. As Paul continues in his role I am sure we will see him again at PHS in the future.

Ros Francis - Miss Francis is currently on long service leave for term 1.
