You are asked to read the information, correct anything that has changed, sign the back and return it to the school. The information is then updated on our computer system. Some of these forms are still outstanding. If you have not returned your child’s form please do so asap. If we do not have the correct information at the school it is difficult for us to contact you if need be.

If your details change during the year please contact the school as soon as possible.

LATE NOTES FOR CHILDREN

Class starts at 9:10am with the 'Get Ready for Class' bell at 9am. If your child arrives at school after 9:10am you are required to accompany them to the office, sign them in and get a late note before your child can join their class. ANZ Hot Shots Tennis program

The Glen Innes District Tennis Club is back for business after 2 years of interruptions to our play.

We have already started competitions during the week and from Saturday, 19 February we have commenced the ANZ Hot Shots Tennis program.

This is Tennis Australia’s official development program for primary aged children.  It involves:

1.    Learning through play philosophy;

2.    The use of scaled equipment, i.e. smaller courts, racquets and low compression balls

3.    A progressive pathway via the red, orange and green stages.

During sessions activities cater for the developmental readiness of each player as follows:

-    Fun:  players are actively engaged, excited and motivated to participate

-    Tactical/play: players are required to think and make decisions about meaningful tennis situations

-    Technical Skills:  players have plenty of opportunities to improve their tennis skills

-     Social: players build social skills such as working co-operatively with a partner, building friendships, encouraging team mates and showing sportsmanship during game play.

Committee members will be available from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. every Saturday to assist children from 4 years upwards to teens to learn to play tennis and have fun.

It is free.  The racquets and balls are available to all participants and the Club has cold water and sunscreen available at all times.

Tennis is the best all round sport for fitness, mental health and social skills.  It is fun for all ages and a game you can play until you are well past youth.  Check out the club website and Facebook Page for more information.

We encourage everyone to have a go and join in the fun.  See you on the Courts next Saturday!!

Kind regards
