Principal's Update

Hi everyone,

I hope you’ve all had a healthy start to the year. It’s amazing to be back into routine and seeing all the students return to school.

Literacy and Numeracy

The teachers have been busy teaching all students the routines and structures for our Literacy and Numeracy workshops for 2022. All students will be given their individual learning goals and over the next few weeks and teachers will be gathering assessment data to provide point of need teaching for every student.

Parent Teacher Interviews

We are looking at having Parent Teacher Interviews on Thursday 10th March. Due to the current COVID restrictions and the Education Department Operating Guidelines these interviews will be held by phone. This will be an opportunity to talk with your child’s teacher about how they’re tracking with their learning and how they’ve started the year. Research shows that if teachers and parents have a strong working relationship, this has a huge benefit on the child’s schooling. I encourage all parents to book an appointment with their teacher to build these strong relationships with your child’s teacher.  Look out for the Compass notification that will provide further information, and please ensure the office have your up to date contact phone number.

Newsletter

This year we have moved to an online iNewsletter which will be released to families via email, compass and facebook. We have found that students often forget to give the newsletter to parents and this process will allow us to electronically send the newsletter directly to families. Please ensure the office have your up to date email address for this to occur.

Consistency is key!

In order for students to successfully learn at school, its vital that they get into a routine that supports this. Having a consistent bed time and sleep routine ensures that students come to school fresh and ready to learn. I urge all parents and carers to ensure this consistent routine is happening so that students can be successful at school and make the most of every learning opportunity.
