Swimming Carnival/Interschool Sport

Swimming Carnival: 

 

The John Fawkner College swimming carnival was held on Wednesday the 9th of February at Oak Park Sports and Aquatic centre. It was a great success, with our students competing in many events where everyone had fun and earned many points for their house teams. 

 

The overall year level champions, earning the most points were:

 

Year 7: Daniel Fenech and Mia Pham.

Year 8: William Tran Vu and Rukaya Ayache.

Year 9: Sean Watkins and Lily Swift.

Year 10: Esa Tiba.

Year 11: Nicholas Scicluna.

Year 12: Thomas Pennisi.

 

Overall, Freeman placed third on 196 points, Barassi placed second on 204 points and Thorpe placed first on 327 points. Thank you to all the students and staff who were involved and helped make this day one to remember.

 

Interschool sports: The beginning of interschool sports for Term 1 is fast approaching, with the sports below on offer:

 

  • Intermediate boys cricket
  • 7 & 8 boys cricket
  • 7 & 8 boys volleyball
  • 7 & 8 girls volleyball
  • Senior boys volleyball

 

If you would like to sign up for any of these teams please come to the general office and speak with Miss Kon ASAP.

Congratulations to the selected House captains for 2022, we look forward to a year filled with increased participation in sport, with our enthusiastic captains leading the way.

 

This week, our senior boys won their first game of the School Sports Victoria Premier League Soccer tournament. They defeated Seda MV Essendon in a great first hit out. The final score was 3 – 1 and stand out player for JFC was Abed Chandab playing in the back half. Our next game will be against Keilor Downs College and following that, Rowville Secondary College.
