Performing Arts Report

Musical Soiree

Tuesday 13th September marked the performance of the 26th Annual Musical Soiree and Spring Concert. Music students were delighted to play to a sold out audience in the Performing Arts Centre for the evening show, which followed on from a morning performance for local primary school groups, senior citizens and Year 7 students from the college. The bands rocked as usual and we are, as always, very proud of our students and their many talents. Congratulations to all the students who performed and helped to create a wonderful night.

A special mention goes out to our graduating Year 12 music students who have now played their very last Soiree. These students have diligently supported the program throughout their time at the college and continue provide inspiration for the up and comers below them.

VCE Performance Exams

At the start of Term 4 we had our talented VCE Music and Dance students complete their Performance Exams as part of their studies. It has been a stressful time for students of these disciplines as they not only prepare for their performance exam but their written exam as well.

These performance exams are tough tasks even for the most experienced performers. While ‘scary’ may be an appropriate description, the rewards are many and the deep knowledge gained from undertaking these tasks and the journey to get to this place is very worthwhile, indeed.

We would like to thank Liam Bradford, Diana Breen, Brandon Corlett, Lachlan Gleeson, Kieren Martin, Shaira Slater, Kara Jewell and Sarah McCormack for their commitment to performing at school events across the school year and we wish them the very best of luck for their exams.
