UNIT 3 THEATRE STUDIES PRODUCTION – ‘THE 39 STEPS’
As part of the Unit 3 Theatre Studies course, students are required to develop an interpretation of a script through the three stages of the theatre production process: planning, development and presentation.
Students can specialise in any two production roles from

· Design: Props
· Design: Lighting
· Design: Sound
· Design: Costume
· Design: Make-up
They work collaboratively and creatively, and use their theatrical knowledge and skill, understanding of the elements of theatre composition and safe and ethical work practices in the theatre to bring the script ‘to life’.
This year’s Unit 3 Theatre Studies production, performed on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th May, was ‘The 39 Steps’, a parody adapted by Patrick Barlow from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock.
