Winter Ball

Tickets for the inaugral Winter Ball will go on sale next week (Wednesday via Compass.)  The event will be held at the Grand on Cathies Lane on Wednesday June 9th, 2021 from 6:30pm-10;30pm.  This event is for both Year 10 and Year 11 students and the dress code is formal.

We have had some enquiries around what a formal dress code is.  In general it means that students get dressed up.   Boys wear a collared shirt, tie, dress pants and jacket.  For some, this will be a suit, for others it may be coordinates.  Girls tend to wear a dress or dress pants, this can be varied depending on student taste and style.

The event has been planned to be on a student free day to give students time to prepare and be at the venue on time.  As it is also the day of the GAT a number of VET courses will cancel their classes.  We are hoping that the small number of students who may still have a VET class on the day are able to negotiate with their trainer to get away a little earlier.  If students need any support in doing this they should speak to a member of the sub school team.

The Student Year Level Leaders will be communicating shortly with students about special dietary needs, tables and music preferences.  We ask all students to be on the look out for these communications.

It promises to be a great night.

Toasties Thursdays

I am sure our senior students would like to thank the Year 10 Fast and Fresh class along with the tutors and teachers for Toastie Thursday.  The Year 10s are making fresh, hot soup for these after school study sessions.  Last week was a lovely Thai Pumpkin and this week Leek and Potato.  Along with the cheese toasties this sets students up for a good study session.

It is great to see our teachers staying back after their working day to offer additonal support to allow our kids to achieve their best and we thank them for this commitment.

We would like to remind students that they can generally access the Senior Centre for additional study until 4:30pm Mondays to Thursdays.
