From the Principal

The school community has now received communication from School Council President Andrew McMeekin regarding the changes for the rest of this year. My final day at Preshil is fast approaching and on the last of term I will say farewell to this beautiful school and its community.

Over the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to meet regularly with the incoming Principal Josh Brody and share in his excitement of this new journey for him and his family. He comes to Preshil with a wealth of knowledge and I know that he, and his family, will be welcomed with great warmth.

Being part of an international group of educators is incredibly special and it is with a mix of both sadness and excitement that I will be heading to the Netherlands in July. I will continue working with the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), moving from the Asia Pacific (AP) Region to work with a new group of educators in the Africa, Europe and Middle East (AEM) Region. I will also take on a leadership role at Amity International School in Amsterdam, who are embarking on their verification of the Middle Years and Diploma Programmes, as Head of Primary.

It has been a privilege being the Principal of Preshil this year, to work with and support our enthusiastic and energetic students, staff and families and to be involved in this most welcoming and spirited community. As educators, our rewards are many.

I am thrilled that Cressida Batterham-Wilson has been appointed as your Acting Principal for the remainder of 2021 and I know that the School is in very capable and experienced hands. Cressida is a passionate and dedicated leader and I wish her well in this treasured role.

Thank you for entrusting me with your children over the past eight years. The small daily interactions of smiles as well as encouraging and kind words build this unique Preshil community.

Please accept my sincere thanks and appreciation as I transition to a new professional opportunity.  I leave with many wonderful memories of my time here; Preshil has been an incredibly special place for me. The most challenging part of leaving is saying goodbye to the children. I have loved watching them grow, learn and laugh; I will miss them most of all.
