CRAZY! MOON STORY

By Xavier 3S

3,2,1, BLAST OFF! James and Jeff were on their way to the moon. They were excited/nervous but mostly excited because they were best friends and they thought they were safe.

On the moon they were ready to jump out of the ship but they wanted to check a few things first. They were checking if they left anything behind. Helmet check, suit check and air tank check ok all ready. They were ready to jump out of the rocket and step onto the surface of the moon.

PPPPPPHHHHHH the iron door slowly screeched open James said “ This door must be old. Then James was busy pulling out the rusty, old metal stairs. All at once the stairs fell out onto the moon.

OW Jeff was uncomfortable because he was stepping onto the moon rocks. James thought he was stepping on cheese because it looked like it. Holey and squishy.

Then something hit his eyes. It was a FLAG from Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon!

They kept exploring the planet for a while and then they were ready to leave.

Just before they left they placed an Australian flag in the rocky, white moon dust into the  ground. Then they were ready to return to the ship and go home.

3,2,1, BLAST OFF! Jeff was going back to Earth then suddenly Jeff  heard a slight sound or something.

It was JAMES!!!!!!!!!!!! Calling his name from outside the ship. He’d Left James behind !

This week the Grade 2 students have been learning about World Environment Day which was celebrated on June 5th this year. We have been exploring nature all around us, and have come up with lots of ideas about how we can care for our environment, both at school and at home.
