Performing Arts

Drama, Dance and Music

Firstly, an update on the event GALA, unfortunately we must postpone this event in light of the ever changing COVID-19 situation. We know how much hard work has gone into it from staff and students and this is not a decision we have easily made.

BUT! It will definitely go ahead and the new date is Thursday 29th of July, 4-6pm so please mark it in your calendar!

Introducing Ming!

Earlier this year we were successful in our application to the Creative Workers in Schools program. This program was set up to help artists/musicians in the Victoria who may have lost work due to COVID. They then get matched with a school and deliver a creative project over Terms 2 & 3. Out of 550 school that applied we were one of the 130 that were chosen which is very exciting. Our artist is Ming Lang (as pictured), he has been with us now for a few weeks and has been a great asset to the team.

Ming comes to us with a background in sound production and is a well-known musician/DJ in Melbourne. He has already done vocal workshops with some of our students where they have got to experience recording and laying their vocals down in a studio setting. He has also inspired some of our students who are keen to learn how to DJ by running lunchtime workshops. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership into next term and I am sure there will be more updates and amazing creativity from this space.

Remote learning

As we are back in remote learning we wanted to share with you some of our drama students work. Below are a few of storyboards that have been created by our year 7-10 students. It always makes our job even more enjoyable when we are able to see students being creative and taking risks with projects and tasks assigned to them. Keep up the amazing work!

Until next time, have a great break and we look forward to creating more moments in Term 3!
