Tin Foil Creations and Drawing
Over the past few weeks during remote learning, Art lessons have looked a little different.
During the first week students engaged in some guided drawing, which always proves to be a popular activity.
Prep students created a dinosaur out of shapes, JLC and MLC had a selection of cute animals and objects to draw, while the SLC students had to draw themselves in the Manga or Anime style.
This past week saw the Prep and JLC students discover the extraordinary work of Pierre Depardieu, whose work involves covering or making things with tin foil. After watching some videos of Pierre’s process and a brief tutorial on how to make tin foil people, students had a go at making their own.
It was worth noting that Pierre has a striking resemblance to our very own Performing Arts and Music teacher, Mr. Bode. A long, lost relative perhaps? Please enjoy the below video which the students thoroughly enjoyed before creating their own tin foil creations.
MLC and SLC students were tasked with incorporating everyday objects into their art and were encouraged to look at the art of Javier Perez who does exactly that. Perez aims to have viewers look at everyday objects in a new and different way and reimagine through minimalistic drawing. Below is an example of Javier Perez's work.
The students took on the task with great enthusiasm and produced some clever ideas and drawings.
Kind Regards
