Football & Netball Update

A successful day at SSV Coastal Football and Netball last Tuesday at Central Reserve resulted in a team from each division including Senior Boys Football, Senior Girls Netball, Intermediate Boys Football and Intermediate Girls Netball progressing through to the Greater Western Stage.

This stage will take place in Ballarat in the coming weeks with more information to be confirmed.

Girls Football

On the 3rd of May, the Year 9 and 10 Girls Football team played in the coastal game against CSC. From there we progressed through to the Greater Western girls football. On Wednesday the 26th of May, we went to Warrnambool to play three games of football.

We played Emmanuel College Warrnambool first and lost, although it was a close game. Our second game was against Ballarat and we had our first win for the day. The third and last game of the day was against Horsham and we had another win.

Throughout the day there was some bad weather, which made it wet and muddy to play. It was extremely windy on the oval, but we used this to our advantage.

This footy was a good competition, but some of the games were tough to play. Everyone played well in their positions and we had a few leading goal kickers for the day. As the games went on, the whole team improved heaps and individuals improved their skills.

As a whole team we would like to thank Mrs Rodway, Ms O’Loughlin, Eliza Cahill and Jason Langdon for all assisting and coaching us.
