Message from Gemma

Principal – St John's Footscray

Dear families and friends,

The world seems a better place and life seems just a little easier when we are altogether. We have certainly hit the ground running once again. We welcome Kerri into hub 1 and Nicki into hub 2. We also welcome Jacob, student teacher, into hub 3/4. We hope Kerri, Nicki and Jacob find our school one of welcome and joy.

CAMP

We hope our 5/6 hub have an exciting and fun time on camp next week - I cannot wait to join them and see the adventures that are planned.

Please note if you need any support or items to help your child attend camp please let us know. Thank you to all the staff that give up their time to attend this wonderful experience with our children.

100 years celebration update

We are very excited to announce Justine McAllister will be our muralist for our 100 year story. Justine is a Melbourne based  illustrator, artist and muralist. Specialising in large-scale murals and digital illustration, her pieces are bold and playful. Most recently, Justine’s works are an amalgamation of her Fine Art background intertwined with aesthetics inspired from pop culture, vintage illustration, comic books and animation. WE ARE SO EXCITED to have Justine completing our 100 year story mural on Eleanor St.  You might know some of Justine's art around the west....

Road safety

After school pick up is a particularly busy time, please help us to keep everyone safe by:

  • Using the designated crossings, supervised by Council crossing guards
  • Moving along the footpath to avoid congestion after you have picked up your child
  • Staying in your car and following the instructions of staff on duty so that we can keep traffic moving as quickly as possible, at times this may mean driving around the block

We appreciate your support in keeping all in our community safe.

This will be the final newsletter for Term 2, I really hope restrictions ease and all can venture as far and wide as possible.

Enjoy the break from seesaw, screens, gathering pages and google meets.
