VCAL Update
Round two of remote learning for our intermediate VCAL classes has begun and has caused some changes and adaptions to our work tasks.
In English, we have decided to push “The Story of Tom Brennan” till later on the year, and we have all have picked our own book to read and study.
In Personal Development we are looking at an RACV Road Safety Campaign, working and looking into how we can be safer on the road in the coming years. One of the main tasks is for our students, in pairs, to develop their own safety features that they would like to see in cars of the future.
In Maths were looking at how to use excel spreadsheets to make our Maths easier, which is tying into our “design our own business” task in Business Management. Our business plans will be presented online to our families and also to experienced business professionals in a Shark Tank style pitch.
One of the main things we have been working on is our "BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT" task. We have all been split up into small groups of two and three, and have to design a 30-minute task for our class to do. The idea is to make our students feel better in themselves, doing activities like exercise or cooking or yoga.
So far tasks have included: going for walks and making pancakes and protein shakes. Some tasks for the future classes are meditation, a small exercise circuit, and M&M cookies.
Overall we are all adapting to remote learning but can't wait to get back in a few weeks!
