Middle Years Update

Simple Kindness
While Year 8 and 9 students were learning about, and choosing their subjects for 2021, the Year 7s have been learning about Kindness and making wonderful contributions to their families and their community. It is inspiring to see young people using their creativity and resourcefulness to find ways to help and support others! Thank you also to their Learning Mentor teachers who are supporting and guiding them to develop and implement their projects.
Below are just a few of their projects and descriptions, with some photos. It will be great to read and see more of what they have been up to in the coming weeks.
Next week, we will feature some of the Year 8 students and their Personal Best projects.
Well done Middle Years students, keep up the great work!

Hannah Rowe and Adele Joy of 7G-
- As part of our kindness project we've decided to work on making handmade scrunchies and clips and donate them to vulnerable children in The Smith Family Foundation.
- Unfortunately, due to pandemic (COVID-19), we could not go and deliver them to the kids ourselves. Instead, we had to deliver them through postage.
- We chose scrunchies and hair clips because young, vulnerable kids don't have many belongings, so we wanted to help them with their hair accessories! We also believe it would brighten up people's days by receiving a little package during this gloomy time.
