Refugee Week 2020

Last week was Refugee Week (Sunday 14 to Saturday 20 June). It was an opportunity to welcome refugees and people seeking asylum and to celebrate their achievements.Some of our student have been doing some great things to get involved.

1. Staughton College student Nella Niyonzima was part of the Melton Council's video celebrating Refugee Week where she got to interview Fadak Alfayadh. Fadak a young Australian community lawyer, advocate for gender equity, writer and fifteen years ago, she was a refugee. Fadak is on a mission to unite Australians by reminding all of Australia’s strength in diversity. 

2. VICSEG scholars Ladiya Morisho and Agoi Chipuowuop have researched some facts and statistics. Take a look at their photo posters below.

We at Staughton College are really proud of the diversity in our school, and thrilled to see our students getting involved in this initiative. Great work.
