Principal's Report

Principal's Report

I would like to thank the whole Staughton Family for the way we have all worked together this term. I am very proud of our connection and care. I hope all of our students and staff have a well-deserved break and recharge for the beginning of Semester 2.

In Term 3 we are returning to normal class times including tutorial during the day. Dismissal will continue to be staggered with Year 7 & 9 dismissed at 2.50 in Weeks 1-5 and Years 8 & 10 dismissed at 2.50 in Weeks 6-10.

Reports

The Department of Education and Training has adjusted the expectations of Student Reports for Semester 1 in recognition of the transition to remote and flexible learning during Term 2. While our school has continued to deliver its teaching and learning program and monitor the achievement and progress of each student, there have been some unprecedented changes to our usual program. Due to these changes we will not be including five point scale teacher judgements in the upcoming reports. We will report using this scale in the Semester 2 reporting period at the end of the year.

To avoid unnecessary handling of paper, reports will be uploaded as a digital document to our Learning Management System, XUNO. Parents can access them via the XUNO parent portal. They will be available at the end of this term.

We will be holding parent teacher conferences as originally scheduled in Term 3 on August 20-21. More details will be given closer to the date, pending the current DET advice at the time.

We, at Staughton College, would like to show our respect and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our school is situated, of elders past and present. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who visits our school.
