Dermatologists also detect and treat skin cancers. Dermatologists fulfil activities such as performing skin examinations, informing patients about the need for annual screenings, sun protection, skin cancer awareness and skin-based self-examinations. They also diagnose and treat a range of skin conditions, including acne, skin cancer and athlete’s foot.A dermatologist needs to have good communication skills, be able to exercise high ethical standards, be compassionate, and also have a high degree of motivation and self-discipline.
