Message from the Principal

Term 2

What an extraordinary Term it has been! With the COVID-19 pandemic, its restrictions and remote learning, it has been a time we are unlikely to forget. Despite its challenges, it has been a time where we have been forced to stop and consider our priorities and what is important. I hope this is not short lived and that we a more grateful society at the end of it.

In the last few weeks, it has been wonderful to have all of our students back at school and we look forward to having our parents back on school premises in Term 3 but we will have to wait and see on this one.

I would like to thank you all for your support during this challenging time and to my staff who have all gone above and beyond the call of duty backing up remote learning with student assessments, preparing student reports and parent teacher interviews. They are very deserving of a well earned rest for the next 2 weeks.

Although we may not be able to travel too far during these school holidays, I wish everyone a wonderful break and I look forward to seeing you all in Term 3 starting on Tuesday 14th July.

Farewell to Mrs Pangratis

At the end of Term 2, Mrs Pangratis proceeds on maternity leave. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it many challenges including not being able to farewell Mrs P in our usual fashion.  We have missed seeing Angelica since we returned to school due to her pregnancy being considered high risk and her severe back pain which has greatly reduced her movement.

On behalf of the St Bridget's community, I would like to thank Angelica for her contribution to our school over the last 4 years. She has nurtured many Prep students with her kind and gentle nature and we will miss her greatly. In the last 2 years, Angelica has taken on the the role of Learning Diversity Leader in addition to her classroom duties and has been a great asset to our Leadership Team.

I wish Angelica and her husband Ilias all the very best for the birth of their first child due early August. We can't wait to see Angelica again face to face and meet the new baby.

Student Representative Council (SRC)

This week we presented our Student Representative Council for Term 3 with their badges. Congratulations to Oliver, Mia, Lakyn, Charlie, Phoenix, Celeste, Eleanor and Harry. This is a wonderful leadership opportunity for student voice across the school.

The Council members will meet with their class fortnightly during Term 3 and discuss ways to improve our school or any issues they would like to raise. These are then presented to the Council which includes our School Captains (Xander and Minky) and Miss Wills for further consideration. Recommendations are then made to me as Principal.

Warm regards
