Creative and Performing Arts
Year 11 Visual Arts have been working tirelessly to refine their ceramic forms for the past few weeks. Students have been given the task to represent the human form as a decorative object or subject that expresses a meaningful idea using clay as their medium.
By using a range of clay making techniques such as coils, slab construction, pinch pots, carving and modelling, students have distorted and exaggerated their forms to emphasise the body’s unique characteristics.
Hope Ngao explains,
“my ceramic artwork celebrates the beauty and strength of the female form and emphasises on the pregnant body. I have pressed in flowers and leaves across the body to explore the relationship between life and nature".
