In our Support Unit Classes

In our Support Unit, we have been making the most of our warmer weather.  Preparing our garden for Spring, our students and staff members are taking great pride in displaying the beauty of our garden - weeding and watering to ensure our flower and vegetable plants always look their best.  Our thriving herb and vegetable garden allows us to promote environmental and sustainability learning and provides opportunities to produce healthy food and connect students with healthy food and lifestyles. Our students are able to experience cutting fresh vegetables and herbs for use in our cooking lessons.

Our outdoor student area is situated near the garden. Students are able to enjoy sunshine with a view of our beautiful garden during break times.

Work experience

Ethan Nashmi of Year 11 has been enjoying work experience with Mr George Giugni, assisting with school maintenance and gardening.  Ethan has been respectful and responsible and he has been successful in displaying his finished work under Mr Giugni's guidance.

Making a difference

I also like to take this opportunity to thank all the SASS  (school administration and support staff) an our school for their hard work and dedication.  I would like to extend my special gratitude to the SLSOs (school learning support officers)  working in our Support Unit.  With the support of the SLSOs, teachers are able to make a lot of difference in the lives of the students in the Support Unit.

Teaching Assistants were created because teachers need heroes too!

Thank you to our Teaching Assistants (SLSOs) Anne Akeed, Debbie Freeman, Carolyn Hassan, Wendy Holmes, Agnes McIntyre, June Ngo, Maria Sanfilippo and Isabella Tononcelli.
