Brain Olympia
Yesterday St. Edward’s hosted the Tamworth Cluster of the Brain Olympia Competition. This was the first time the competition has been run since 2019 and it was great to have 80 students from all different schools together competing in academic challenges.
The competition included combined Stage 2 and 3 teams from:
- St. Edward’s
- St. Joseph’s West Tamworth
- St. Xavier's Gunnedah
- St. Joseph’s Quirindi
- St. Michael’s Manilla
- St. Joseph’s Uralla
- St. Patrick’s Walcha
The competition was extremely close all day, with St. Xavier’s Gunnedah 1 running out eventual winners and St. Edward’s White coming runners up. St. Patrick’s Walcha were the winners of the small school category. These three school will compete in the Diocesan Brain Olympia finals which at this stage will be held in Narrabri on Wednesday. All the students involved demonstrated excellent collaborative problem solving, general knowledge and dramatic skills and should be proud of their wonderful effort and engagement.
