Student achievements

Congratulations to the following students:

Senuli Jayasuriya (Kinder), who bravely donated her locks to a charity that provides wigs for children who have lost their hair due to illness.

Senuli had been growing her beautiful long hair for the past few years with the goal to make a difference to the lives of children less fortunate than herself.

The College is incredibly proud of Senuli for this kind and selfless gesture and her desire to help others.

Davina Cox (Year 10), who was accepted into the Work Exposure in Government (WEX) Canberra 2022 program, running from 23-28 October.

The program provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 10, 11 and 12 with hands on experience and information about job opportunities and career pathways in the Australian Government.

Ruby Lane, Mackenzie Graves, Izzy Geard, Maddie Linnell, Alet Le Grange, Sophie Fidanza and Holly Richardson (Year 8), who represented the College in the U14 STNA Gold netball team that participated in the KNA Netball Carnival.

The students, along with three other team members, played terrific netball, ending the carnival undefeated and with a grand final win.

Well done to Alet (captain) who was awarded 'player of the final'.

Amy Farrell (Year 7), who represented her club and state in the Gymnastics National Clubs Carnival on the Gold Coast during the school holidays.

Evie and her Level 5 team ended up as finalists, which was a fantastic result.

Asmita Gupta (Year 10), who competed in the Australian Junior Squash Championships, held recently in Perth.

The proud Tasmanian representative put on an admirable performance against some of the best Australian players in the sport.

Asmita trained five days a week for many months in preparation for the event and that hard work certainly paid off.

She thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience and developed great relationships with coaches, players, referees and sponsors.

Taylah Hayes (Year 10), who has been selected to represent Australia as a cadet in the upcoming Perth Oceania Open 2022 for judo.

Taylah has also written her name into the history books as the first female to be invited to compete in the Open in more than a decade.

Taylah's success follows a blockbuster few weeks in the sport. She and her sister, Macey (Year 3), both recently competed at the National School Championships and the Gold Coast International Open.

Macey put up a solid fight at both events, earning a silver medal in the School Championships and bronze in the Gold Coast International.

Taylah fought in three divisions in the Gold Coast International, receiving bronze in her cadets, silver (junior medal) and bronze (senior ladies). She also took home bronze in the School Championships
