MR G’S HIGHLIGHTS! WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING AT SPS?

OMG I can’t believe we are already in Term 4. I hope all the students had an enjoyable holiday break that was fun filled.

I am really looking forward to what lies ahead in Term 4 as there are a lot of exciting things on our calendar already such as the Senior School Market, excursions, incursions, Foundation, Year 1 & Year 2 Swimming, our beloved Somerville Primary School Christmas Concert and of course Year 6 Graduation.

Congratulations to the students who represented our school at Divisional Athletics last week, you all did an amazing job. We are wishing Jack, Alisha and Milla the best of luck as they have made it through to the next level, which is regional.

At the beginning of the term, a notice went out about the new yard behaviour model that has been introduced for Term 4. I just wanted to reiterate that the new model is all about having greater consistency, if incidents occur in the yard. This model is designed around a restorative action, and used as a learning opportunity for students. At Somerville Primary School, we always like to focus on the positives and we encourage and reward positive/good behaviour in the yard with our raffle ticket system and through our UPstander award.

Finally, I would like to wish all of our students, staff and families all the very best for a fantastic Term 4.

HATS

Just a reminder that all students need to be wearing a sun smart hat each and every day this term. Thank you for your continued support with this.

READING NIGHTS

Congratulations to all of the students that have reached reading nights milestones over the holidays and during the first two weeks of Term 4. I look forward to our reading nights party later this term and cannot wait to celebrate with all of the students who reach the magical 200 reading nights mark.

ASSEMBLY AWARDS

Congratulations to all of our Somerville Star Award winners at our first assembly for Term 4. You have all done a sensational job and set a wonderful example for your classmates.
