PnC News

Hello families,

The MPS Comedy Night is just over a week away!

We have sold enough tickets to have a great night but we need to sell more to make this a fundraising success. Please tell your friends and family to come along. If you are coming but haven’t booked yet, please know you’re giving the organisers a heart attack. Trybooking.com/CBSMG

Comedy night jokes competition winners!

Congratulations to everyone who entered the joke competition last week!

The judges found it very hard to decide (and argued a lot).

The winners were:

  • How many Moreland Primary staff members does it take to change a lightbulb? Just one, because they’re so bright. (Jackson)
  • What’s the difference between a Principal and a Prep student? One thinks they’re the boss of everyone and one is in charge of this school. (Amaya)
  • Knock knock. Who’s there? Costa. Costa who? It’ll costya 5 bucks to get out of PE class! (Lewis)

Here are some of their other favourites!

  • How many Moreland Primary staff members does it take to screw in a light bulb? Three - one to hold the lightbulb and the other two to turn the ladder. (Julia, Khahlil & Juman)
  • How many Moreland Primary staff members does it take to screw in a light bulb? All of them, we’d better book in another curriculum day! (Amaya)
  • What’s the difference between a Principal and a Prep student? Preps get the holiday off! (Hubert)
  • What’s the difference between a Principal and a Prep student? A LOOOOOOOONNNNGGG time! (Frankie)
  • What’s the difference between a Principal and a Prep student? Preps get stuff done. (Inez)
  • What’s the difference between a Principal and a Prep student? Like, 2 metres. (Maiya)
  • Knock knock. Who’s there? Costa. Costa who? How much did it costa for all those hula hoops? (Kiki)

And finally, our one entry from a parent got a lot of laughs:

  • What’s the difference between a Principal and a Prep student? One has grey hairs, one causes them. (Lauren, parent of Niamh and Eleanor)

You might not go home empty handed…

We’ve had a great range of prizes donated from local businesses for our Comedy Night Silent Auction and Raffle. Come along to be in the running!

Huge thanks to Jetts Coburg, Ukiyo, Valhalla Axe Throwing, Brunswick Ballroom, Bunnings Coburg, Pinot and Picasso, Urban Leopard, Centre stage Costumes, Arts Centre Melbourne,  Fitzroy Nursery, Armature Pilates, Present Story, Islamic Museum of Australia, GoClimb, Woolworths Coburg, Brunswick Bound and Really Good Chocolate for their donations.

Plus, an iconic piece of Australian sports memorabilia will be up for auction too. You won’t want to miss it!

Can you help us prepare for Comedy Night?

If you have a few hours to spare on Sunday 23 October, we would love your help to set up and pack up the school auditorium for the show. Pick your favourite task here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4eaaac2fa0f4cf8-comedy

Learn more about the PnC

If you’re in the school grounds at pick-up or drop-off, swing by our Parents Noticeboard (near the Buddy Bench). There you’ll be able to find out more about the PnC and the value it offers to our school, as well as keep updated about upcoming school social and fundraising events.

You can also find out about upcoming events via Compass, our Facebook Group and WhatsApp groups.

As always, we recognise that not all parents & carers have the capacity to volunteer or donate to our fundraising efforts. We welcome all efforts, not matter how small. If you are interested in helping our school in a way that suits you, or you have a fundraising or social event idea, you can email us any time at morelandps.pnc@gmail.com
