Principals Message

Dear parents and carers,

Can you believe we are in Term 4! It’s the time of the year when certain things happen, graduations, farewells, Christmas preparations and holiday planning.

In the next month we should see the whole school completely finished! Phew! Two and a half years and we are ready for the final fence to come down and for everything to be in use once again. Once finished we will hold an open house morning on a weekend for members of the parish and Gunnedah community to have a look. There will be a formal opening in the future as well.

On Monday the staff were led in a spiritual retreat day by Martin Scroope. He is a beautiful person who delivers a deep message in a relaxed manner. The day was centered around the work of St Ignatius who said,

“In life each has a road to take. Seek and test the way forward in many different ways, so that as an individual goes ahead in that way which, for him or her, is the clearest, happiest and most blessed in this life.”

It is so good to be back at school. I had the most amazing holiday in Italy and the UK with my family, an experience we will all remember with such joy. But my work is important to me and the children of St Xavier’s mean so much to me so it is good to be back and into it.

Please remember to contact me if there is anything you are concerned about or if you want us to know how much you have enjoyed something in particular concerning your child.

Kind regards,

Jen Honner
