Year 3/4TR - Religious Education

Year 3/4TR

In grade 3/4TR we have been learning about the Rosary and praying the Hail Mary as part of our morning and afternoon prayers. The Rosary, a traditional prayer, refers to a set of prayers used in the Catholic Church, and to the physical string of knots or beads used to count the component prayers.

To pray the rosary is to recite specific prayers corresponding with particular beads on the string.

A rosary is made up of a crucifix, one larger bead, three small beads, another larger bead and then a medal. After the medal comes a larger bead again, followed by a group of 10 smaller beads.

The students have been making their own rosary beads as part of their ‘creative’ response to scripture. Here are some examples of their Rosaries.
