Principal's News

Lindy Smith Deputy Principal

Dear Families,

Spring has sprung this week with lots of sunshine at the beginning of the week followed by lots of rain towards the end. How wonderful to live in Melbourne!

It's been a busy week of teaching and learning in all classes. Below we have included an outline of what the children will  be learning during Term 4. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact your child's class teacher.

School Closure Days

Just a reminder that there will be no school on Monday 24th October (Staff Mathematics Professional Learning), Monday 31st October (Reporting and Assessment Day) and Tuesday 1st November (Melbourne Cup Public Holiday)

If you require your child to be supervised on either of these Mondays,  please contact Extend on 1300 366437 or email extend.com.au. These school closure programs will only run if there are suffient numbers of students.

Cricket Clinic

Our students had a wonderful time learning cricket on Wednesday. Though the weather was not kind and the first clinic needed to be held in the MPR, many new skills were learnt. There are 3 more clinics over the following Wednesdays.

First Aid

Next Wednesday all students will participate in St John's Ambulance First Aid training which will teach our children the importance of First Aid and what to do in an emergency.

If you would like more information, please click here.

All staff will also undertake First Aid training next week to  ensure everyone is up to date.

Prep 2023 Transition

We are very excited to welcome our new 2023 Preps  next Wednesday to begin their transition to school. Our new preps will visit for the next 4 Wednesdays. I'm sure there is a real mix of excitement and trepidation.

Trinity Voices

A huge thanks to Bernadette who is leading our choir - Trinity Voices. It is hoped that everyone will enjoy hearing the beautiful, sweet voices of our Trinity students at the end of the year.

We have a very dedicated junior choir and  today started our senior choir.

Assistance Required

We are very excited to have quite a few wonderful new books for the library which are nearly ready to be put on the shelves and for our students to borrow but just would need to be covered. In case you would have some interest and spare time, please let me know and I will prepare a bag with books and cover material for you to take home and cover.

Thank you very much in advance and your help is much appreciated.

The Social Justice Leaders and Mini Vinnies

We are the Social Justice Leaders and Mini Vinnies Team

We would like to tell you about our project for term 4.

October is Catholic Mission month and at Trinity we will support the amazing work by the Catholic Mission to raise money to purchase a goat for the Deberety Farm in Emdibir in Ethiopia.

$117 can buy one goat for the farm.

Students will learn more about this project in their class.

During the whole month of October we will be asking for students, staff and families to donate any loose change. There will not be a special day or activity - just gentle reminders that our loose change- 5, 10 , 20 , 50 cents and gold coins can make a big difference to people in need.

The information will be shared in class next week and posters will be in the classroom. Teachers will have a tin, box or container to collect coins in their classroom and the Mini Vinnies/Social justice leaders will collect.

From The Mini Vinnies Team

We welcome Nigel back on Monday.

Regards

Lindy Smith
