Highlighting learning at BHPS
At Friday's Whole School Assembly, we celebrated students who took part in the recent ICAS assessments for high-ability and high-achieving students. The students were commended for their courage and willingness to step outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves. Our students participated in a variety of assessments including English, Writing, Spelling, Science and Maths. The assessments are completed by students around Australia, New Zealand and the world.
Families can access English and Mathematics results online at: ICAS Results
The TAP-ID is the same for all subjects (and will stay the same if your child sits ICAS in a future year too). Simply log on, select the subject, and see how your child went.
Unfortunately the paper certificates for Maths have been delayed. Please find a message from ICAS regarding this below. We encourage you to use the website to see how your child went in Maths until the certificates arrive.
"We are writing to follow up about the delay in the delivery of the ICAS Mathematics Certificates. We are working as quickly as possible to produce the certificates for you, however, there will be further delays of at least 3 weeks (plus shipping time).
We understand how important the Mathematics certificates are to your school community, and we sincerely apologise for the delay and the inconvenience caused."
Our school has been invited to participate in professional learning at the new Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) in South Yarra. This professional learning is designed to focus on practical differentiation strategies to cater for high-ability learners.
We will be sending a team of teachers and leaders along and are keen to learn more about practical classroom strategies for meeting the needs of our high-ability students. This is part of a broader plan to ensure that all teachers and all classes adopt strategies to further promote engagement and challenge in learning.
