Secondary Community News

Lower Secondary (Years 7-8)

78C are reading Alison Lester's "Are We There Yet?" picture book for Inquiry to learn about the different states and territories of Australia and their capital cities. Students have been working hard to slowly build up a map of Australia, following the character's journey from the book. They have also been making a book of their own using Book Creator on their iPads. In this book they have been learning how to use online maps and how to find photos of different Australian landmarks.

During this time Evan has been on the farm or working hard in the school grounds during Hands On Learning.

Upper Secondary (Years 9-10)

This week, the 9/10s went Travel Training to their local shopping centre, Watergardens. We practised many skills, such as touching on our MyKi’s, where to sit and stand on the train, as well as following instructions, staying with the group, and showing appropriate behaviour in the community. When we arrived at Watergardens, we all participated in a scavenger hunt where we aimed to find different stores and items. Overall, the 9/10s had an amazing time, and we look forward to having more opportunities to go Travel Training in the future. We can’t wait to see where else we will go!
