Cebula Boarding

Boarding News

It has been a busy start to the year in the Cebula community. Twenty seven new boarders have joined our boarding family and despite a few bouts of homesickness, they have all settled well into residential life. Many have already involved themselves with the summer sport programme including cricket and basketball.

Thank you to all the parents who attended the Dads Camp, Mums Dinner and the Sundowner – all wonderful events for parents to acquaint themselves.

Our Welcome Weekend saw the whole boarding house spend the day at Outback Splash. With a hot day forecast, we were very fortunate to be in such a great environment which kept the boys cool and very engaged. I want to commend the Year 12 Boarding leaders for their stewardship – they were proactive in ensuring the new Year 7s had a great day out and continued their great work Saturday evening when they ran a games night for the boys. This weekend we head to Adventure World for another opportunity for the new boys to establish some firm friendships and connections.

One of the key indicators of success at boarding school is building connection and a sense of belonging. In the past two weeks it has been very encouraging seeing our returning boarders make the” new arrivals” feel at home and already the signs of new friendships forming are very evident.

We are looking forward to a fabulous year ahead in Cebula!
