S.T.E.A.M.

It was with great excitement that Specialist lessons began this week at St Justin's.  In S.T.E.A.M. this week we started our term by focusing on an Engineering task (the ‘E’ in S.T.E.A.M.). The students were asked to build a tower out of various materials that could hold the weight of a book for 10 seconds, as well as be as tall as a large drinking cup.  There was great enthusiasm from all levels in working together to create their towers.  At the end of the task,  the teams were able to reflect on what great team work looked like, and what would be even better next time.  Creating, producing and then evaluating their designs was important to ensure students started to develop the skills needed to be creative and critical thinkers.  Everyone had lots of fun! We look forward to our paper plane design challenge next week.
