G.R.I.N. (Getting Ready In Numeracy)

This year, St Joseph's School has been accepted into the GRIN (Getting Ready In Numeracy) Mathematics intervention professional learning program through Monash University.

The GRIN program is a licensed Mathematics Intervention program that aims to address difficulties that students experience when learning mathematics. We are very excited to have gained a place in this program, having missed out in previous years. Ms Bourke, our school Mathematics leader,  and all our Learning Support Officers will be attending the first session of this program on Monday where they will learn more about the process of good mathematics intervention and begin planning the implementation of GRIN sessions in our school.

It is very exciting that 6 members of staff will soon be accredited GRIN tutors and St Joseph's will become a licensed GRIN school, where struggling mathematics learners will be better supported by a structured mathematics intervention program.

There will be more news on this as we begin to rollout the program later in the term.
