District Swimming
On Monday 20th February we took 19 students to represent Warrandyte Primary at the Templestowe District Swimming sports. All students certainly did us proud with students representing us in all strokes and freestyle and medley relays.
Congratulations must go to James (Grade 5) and Mitchell (Grade 5) who both came 3rd in the 11 year old Boys Backstroke. James in the ‘A’ event and Mitchell in the ‘B’ event.
Only swimmers who come first in an ‘A’ event go on to Division level.
Interschool Sport
We have played our second round of Interschool sport against Anderson’s Creek. We always enjoy these matches against our neighbouring school. Softball had a win while we had a draw in rounders, and losses in cricket and bat tennis.
Next week we have a HOME game against Templestowe Heights. Students need to remember their sport uniform, hats and water bottles.
If there is a parent who is available and would like to supervise the bat tennis team that would be greatly appreciated.
House Fun Run/Cross Country
We now have a confirmed date for the House Fun Run/Cross Country. It will be held on Monday 3rd April, which is the last Monday of term.
Again this will be a fundraiser but further information and sponsor sheets will go out on Compass next week.
Now that we have had some cooler weather the students are enthusiastically doing their training and running laps for the Lap-A-Thon competition.
I will again add up all the kilometre that have run in this training time in term one and see if we can get further than we did last year, which was from Melbourne to Townsville!!
