Meet your PA Member

I’m Kirsty and I’m the Vice President of the Marlborough PA. I have Sullivan in Grade 4, Angus in Grade 1 and Finn who will start Prep in 2024.

Why did you join the PA?

My parents were very involved in the school and local community when I was growing up so I guess I developed a strong sense of community through them. The PA seemed like a great place to start as a way of meeting families and getting actively involved! 

What skills do you bring to the PA?

I just enjoy being involved in the school community and especially love helping with things that support our families like food bank, second hand uniform stalls and of course love to see everyone’s happy faces when we run fun events! 

Something you might not know about me…

I really love composting…I know, a bit of a weird hobby, but there’s something very satisfying about turning waste into nourishing food for the garden. Oh, and I also love a good Korean drama! 

8 Track Brewery 

Saturday October 22nd saw a group of around 30 parents converge upon 8 Track Brewery in Ringwood for a social night hosted by the Parents Association. 

It was a long overdue opportunity to reconnect with parents that we hadn't properly seen in ages, and put names to newer faces of those we'd seen around school.  "Now....who belongs to you?" is such a handy conversation starter!

Tucked in behind Heatherdale Road near the station, the team from 8 Track really knew their brews, evident when they helped us choose a 'paddle' of beers from their seasonal rotation. It turns out I'm a lager drinker!

Whether it was inside overlooking the microbrewery, or outside on the deck it was the perfect venue to reconnect with a cross-section of parents from the school community whilst supporting a local small business.

I had a great time and really hope to see even more people attending the next night out.

Second Hand Uniform Stall 

We are planning a second-hand uniform stall for Tuesday 6th December. If you have any uniform items that you no longer need and are willing to donate, please drop them off at the office before the 5th Dec. All proceeds go towards the PA. 

Nov 26th  - Election Day BBQ @ Heathmont College 

We had such a successful event for Election Day earlier this year, that Heathmont College has asked us back to supply baked goods for the Election Day in November while they host the sausage sizzle. 

We will be calling out for donating baked goods later on in Term 4.  Items that sold really well are whole cakes/pies, cupcakes, and slices.  All proceeds go toward the PA/ school. 

Christmas Carols -  Thursday Dec 8th. 

 Come and join the school community for the last big event before the year ends for some holiday cheer.  There will be a sausage sizzle, icy poles, Mr Whippy to go along with the performances by the students.

The Food Bank is stocked. If you are a family or know of a family that can benefit from the food bank, please reach out to the office, a teacher, or Alec.
