Leadership @ MPS

We are at the halfway point for Term 4 and we still have so many great community events to come! Term 4 really is a wonderful time to celebrate achievements and reflect on the growth in each and every one of our students. Whether it is reading more fluently, learning their times tables, being able to manage big feelings or finally mastering a song on the keyboard, our students have worked hard to achieve some of their own personal goals. Take some time to reflect on those achievements and celebrate them with your child. We are very proud of them!

Grade 4 Camp

Last week our Grade 4 students attended Grade 4 Camp in Toolangi for two nights and three days of fun-filled activities. Although the weather was not what we had hoped for, our students were able to participate in all of the planned activities with the Possum Glider being the overwhelming favourite among the cohort. We were so impressed with the behaviour of our students and their willingness to give everything a go. We saw courage in those who pushed themselves to new heights, teamwork and collaboration when working through challenges, kindness and compassion in supporting our friends who were missing the comforts of home. Thank you to all the staff who attended camp and made this a possibility.

Remembrance Day

Today our Grade 6 Captains represented the school at a special Remembrance Day ceremony at Montmorency RSL. Back at school we stopped at 11am to remember those who fought and died at war. Students have been learning about Remembrance Day in classrooms and we were pleased to see that we almost completely sold out of poppies, raising funds for Australian veterans and their families.

Maths and Science Expo

Preparations are nearly finished ahead of our Maths and Science Expo next Wednesday 16th November. We are welcoming students and families to attend the afternoon and participate in a range of activities. We will have different activities set up in each classroom so come along and join in the fun!

Foundation Transition

Over the last fortnight, our 2023 Foundation students have attended transition and we have shared in their joy and excitement as they learn more about 'big school' and what is in store for next year. Practising routines, bringing a school bag with a packed lunch, and making new friends are all big milestones in what is a huge year of growth for our Foundies. We can't wait until they join us in 2023!

Contacting

We have an abundance of books that need to be contacted for our library.  If you are able to assist, please come in to the Office from Tuesday to collect some books and contact.

Lunch Order Provider

We are still on the hunt for a lunch order provider for 2023!

Please reach out to us, and advise if you know of any businesses who may be able to assist us.
