9 Life Journalism and Media Excursion
During Term 4 the 9 Life Journalism and Media class had an excursion to the ACMI Museum where students were given the opportunity to look at the history of lights, movement and sound associated with the making of film. Ranging from ancient shadow puppet plays of Indonesia to the sleek movies from the Marvel Universe, students were able to see and learn the many aspects needed to ensure television and other visual programs are produced to the standard we expect today. During their time in the museum, students explored several exhibits ranging from sound booths, storyboards and props. Students gained a better appreciation of the various stages of development in the production of such media.
The class were given opportunities to explore the city and record their day much like what was intended in the class discussions about how the activity was to be conducted. The intention was to complete a blog by the end of the excursion upon returning to school. Students were given the task to explore each of the many exhibits independently while recording their day like a blog before editing their materials to a format that suited their group’s style.
Below are some of the blogs that students from the class made to document their day.
