MMIGP Christmas Toy Drive
My name is Elke Smirl, Chief Executive Officer of Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place (MMIGP). We are a not-for-profit Indigenous organisation that continues to provide much needed services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people residing, working and/or visiting the eastern metropolitan Region (EMR) of Melbourne since our establishment in 2006.
MMIGP is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation committed to retaining, promoting, and strengthening Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural identity in the EMR. MMIGP provides a variety of programs aimed at safe social wellbeing, inclusion, and cultural connection for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community that access us, as well as targeted programs designed and implemented to address the specific needs of our community within the EMR.
Each year MMIGP holds its annual community Christmas celebration to support our young people and their families through what can sometimes be a difficult time of the year. We often support over a hundred families each year in providing gifts to their children ranging from 0 to 18 years of age. This year, more than ever, we are seeking the help of organisations like yours to help us realise the Christmas magic that our children deserve.Your donation will greatly help the lives of many of our young people who might not get to experience Christmas in the magical way that many of us are privileged to have.We hope that we can count on your support to help us with this very worthwhile and meaningful event. We are unable to accept cash donations, however, if you would like to make a gift card donation, we would greatly appreciate it.
Should you prefer to donate items, our friendly staff will be happy to arrange pickup from you, where appropriate, or you are welcome to contact us directly for delivery at our premises. Our youth team will gratefully accept your donations and can be arranged through contacting Chloe at youthworker@mmigp.org.au or calling our landline on 03 – 9725 2166.
Thanking you in advance for your much-needed support in considering our request.
Yours sincerely,
Elke Smirl
