School News
Outstanding accounts
If you have any outstanding invoices, in the next few days you will receive a statement in your child’s bag. Please ensure that all payments owing to the school are settled before December 9. If you will struggle to finalise this please speak to Sara as soon as possible. I appreciate it is an expensive time of the year and thank you for prioritising your payments to the school.
Nut Aware Policy reminder
A reminder that we have students with serious nut allergies at school so no nuts or nut products are to be sent to school in children's lunchboxes. Items marked 'may contain traces of nuts' are ok.
Drink bottles please
As the weather gets warmer, we are noticing kids needing their drink bottles all day. A considerable number of students are arriving each day without a drink bottle. Please make it a priority each morning to check your child has their bottle with them, and that it is clearly named so we can make sure it makes its way home if it goes wandering. Thank you!
A Message from Emily
Thank you for those who have already given to the Vinnies Christmas Appeal. We are looking for non-perishable items which will be given to families less fortunate this Christmas. Our donation box is outside of the library and will be collected on the 9th of December by a Vinnies Volunteer. If you have anything you wish to donate please do before this date.
A reminder of some examples of items you can donate are:
- Specialty Christmas items
- Rice, pasta, noodles
- Jams and spreads
- Long life milk, custard, juice
- Tinned food
- Snacks, cakes and treats.
Thank you for giving generously!
Take care,
Emily Morgan | Pastoral Care Worker
CHECK: Covid measures
Here are the current recommendations from the Department for Education:
COVID safe measures
- All students and staff must stay home if unwell, even mildly. If students become unwell at school, we are unable to care for them here and we will be contacting you to collect them asap. Please have a plan in place for someone who can collect your child within a half hour.
- We will be maximising ventilation by leaving doors/windows open, using air conditioning and fans, and keeping doors and windows open.
- Adults will practise physical distancing where possible.
- We will continue to practise and promote hand and respiratory hygiene. Hand sanitiser will be provided for regular use, and disposable masks.
Face masks
- We are still recommending adults and children in Years 3-6 to wear masks inside, to minimise the risk of infection. However, we are now leaving this up to individual discretion.
- If there is a known case in the family of a child in any class, we are encouraging the adults and children in that class to all wear masks during the infectious period.
Pick up and drop off
- In the morning please continue to drop children off at one of the entrances to the school grounds, and allow them to make their own way to their classrooms. If you need to speak to your child’s teacher, please make contact through the SeeSaw app.
- We are now welcoming families to come into the yard at the end of the day.
Assemblies
- Assemblies are now allowed to be held in person once again with COVID safe measures in place, once a fortnight on the Friday of every odd week at 2:30 unless informed otherwise.
