New Literacy Resources

This time of Term 4 is always exciting in literacy, because the PFOL make contact to let me know how much money was raised from Scholastic book orders. These funds go to purchasing new literacy resources. With the input of our super-knowledgeable Reading Recovery Teacher Mrs Arandt, we chose a fantastic range of resources this year, including some games and activities to build phonemic awareness, some word building activities focused on consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words and a whole lot of new readers for the home reading program, which I am in the process of covering. The junior school teachers were so excited  by these new resources that many of them have already disappeared from the Literacy Room and are being put to good use in classrooms.

A huge thank  you to the PFOL for the ongoing management of this program, and in particular to Faith Bell, who has been instrumental in making sure we get our order in before any of our rewards dollars expire.

All the best,
