Upcoming Free Events in Darebin

 

The youth and community worker from Your Community Health has shared some upcoming FREE events happening in our area. 

 

Reservoir Market

There is a free pop-up fresh food market at Reservoir Neighbourhood House on Tuesday 22nd November & 6th December. It’s BYO bag and people can get a range of fresh fruit and veggies. There will also be some staff there to chat to anyone wanting more info on regular food support– flyer attached! 

 

Youth Writing Lab 

Come along for a special Youth Writing Lab with Leanne Hall, award-winning Australian author of books for young adults and children. Her debut novel, This Is Shyness, was the winner of the Text Prize for Children's and Young Adult Writing. Her novel for younger readers, Iris and the Tiger, won the Patricia Wrightson Prize for Children's Literature at the NSW Premier's Literary Awards and her most recent YA novel, The Gaps, has been shortlisted in the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards and the Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature.

 

Come early for snacks and to chat about all things books and writing! Youth Writing Lab is held monthly. Stop by for a single session or come monthly to keep up your momentum and deepen your skills. Smile Squad- Dental Van

We are so glad that the dental service (Smile Squad) is running smoothly. Thank you to the students for remembering to attend your appointments. Just a reminder to check your compass for your appointment time and present to the dental van which is located outside of the Performing Arts Centre.

 

 

 

No Lights No Lycra- Student Ambassadors Wanted

 

We are still needing some student volunteers to run No Lights No Lycra at NHS. If you are interested in becoming a student ambassador, please see the staff in M11. Watch this video to see if this is something you would like to be part of. 

 

 

Support Outside of School Hours

With the senior students having finished for the year and the year 10 cohort finishing next week, it is a good time to remind you of the supports available outside of school hours. Please come and see us in M11 if you require any support before the end of the term.
